A. Elected officers of the organization shall consist of the following:

B. Duties and Responsibilities of the Officers:
1. President
a. Exercise general supervision and direction over the various
committees.
b. Preside at an executive meeting prior to the monthly Board
meeting.
c. Preside at all Board, Annual and Special meetings.
d. Appoint all Chairpersons of Committees.
e. Represent or appoint appropriate delegate(s) in the Leisure
World community, or any other group or body to which such
representation is considered necessary or advisable.
f. Make an oral report to membership at the Annual Meeting
summarizing the year’s accomplishments.
g. Deliver to his/her successor all records and property of the
organization upon leaving his/her office of the President.
h. Serve as ex-officio member of all committees, except the
Nominating Committee. To be advised of all proceedings of the committees.
i. Recommend the establishment of any committee(s).
2. Administrative Vice President
a. Exercise the powers of the President in the absence or
disability of the President.
b. Perform those duties as assigned by the President.
c. Following Committee Chairs report to the Administrative Vice
President:
(1) Education
(2) Events
(3) Programs
(4) Travel
(5) Community Relations Representative:
(a) Liaison between various groups both within and outside Leisure World: E & R; Interfaith Chapel; Jewish
Community Center; Jewish Community Relations Council; Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church; etc.
(b) Coordinate with other committees within JRLW
d. Deliver to the newly elected Vice President all records and
property of the organization.
3. Religious Activities Vice-President
a. Exercise the powers of the President in the absence or disability
of the President and/or the Administrative Vice President.
b. Appoint sub-committee chairpersons
c. RELIGIOUS SERVICES COMMITTEE:
(1) Plan, schedule and setting up for the monthly Friday night
and Saturday morning services.
(2) Plan, schedule and arrange for the High Holy Days and
Yizkor services.
(3) Oneg Shabbat and Kiddush members will purchase items
necessary for the Oneg Shabbat and Kiddush. Manage
volunteers for set-up and clean up.
(4) Coordinate with other Leisure World Jewish organizations
in planning and conducting Friday Night services under
their sponsorship.
(5) Negotiate and prepare contracts for the Clergy hired to
officiate at:
High Holy Days
Friday Night Services
Saturday Morning Services
Yizkor Services
(6) Recruit and coordinate lay readers and participants for the
following services and events:
High Holy Days
Friday Night Services
Saturday Morning Services
Yizkor Services
Minyanim
Sukkoth
Holocaust Remembrance Day
Kristallnacht Remembrance
c. Religious collections for: Prayer Books; Torah Fund; Oneg Shabbat; Kiddush; and Tzedukah. Individuals send out thank you cards to donors and provide information to JRLW Newsletter.
Prepares and installs bookplates.
Recommend amount to be distributed to each of the approved charities within the proposed budget.
d. Responsible for the sale of High Holiday and Break the Fast ticket
sales.
e. Submit Religious Budget to the Treasurer two (2) months prior to
the Annual Meeting.
4. Recording Secretary
a. Record proceedings of all meetings
b. Maintain a record of all policy decisions and motions
c. Prepare article on proceedings for the JRLW News
d. Deliver to the newly elected Recording Secretary all records
and property of the organization.
5. Corresponding Secretary
a. Prepare and maintain the official correspondence of the
organization.
b. Maintain the files of the organization including
announcements and records of important events.
c. Deliver to the newly elected Corresponding Secretary all
records and property of the organization.
d. Serve on Communications Committee and prepare JRLW News article for the LW News.
7. Treasurer
a. Collect all monies due the organization
b. Present a financial report of the organization at both the
Annual and Board of Directors meetings.
c. Maintain all funds of the organization in one or more
financial institutions approved by the Board.
d. Sign all checks and other instruments for expenditures.
Treasurer’s signature alone may be used for up to
$1,000. Expenditures above $1,000 requires the signature of a
second designated elected officer.
e. In the absence or disability of the Treasurer, the President
and/or Adminstrative Vice-President shall sign such checks and instruments.
f. Prepare and present a Budget to the Board for approval no later than one month prior to the Annual Meeting.
g. Reports to the Board the amount donated for charitable distributions.
h. Deliver to the newly elected Treasurer all records and
property of the organization.
